Lilly's Story

Hi! I'm Lilly.

Reading was always my ambition as a chold, where we'd go to the public library every two weeks and I'd around the shelves looking for a new book. I still do that, even to this day. The sight of books brings me comfort, and excitement. However, my writing journey slowly developed, from the love of stories and creating games, to the books I write today. How, you may ask.

I always loved creating stories, and often put them into game storylines and drawings. I was always the one who came up with the game when I hung out with my friends or cousins. They then started turning into full storylines, with a beginning, middle, and end, but stayed in the voice messages between me and my friend. Then, in 2019, I started writing my first ever story. It was horrible and dramatic, just as I was at the time, and was titled 'Sensitive'. Those words will never meet anyone's eyes ever, no one but me and my friend. Half way through, I stopped writing due to crisis' that were going on at the time. Some months later, I started writing again, but not as much. I'd write introductions to the stories, but never continue on with them. That was until I started writing the story 'Perfectly Imperfect' (Some of you might find that familiar). Perfectly Imperfect was the first version of what's now known as 'Stuck Behind Her', and the storyline was very different. I wrote half of the first half through the summer of 2020 until the new year, where I stopped. Covid had hit big then where I lived, and so I was going through my own problems at the time. The story was shelved until early 2022, when I continued on with the first draft. It was horrible, and I had noticed that by then, so I discussed it with my friend (She's a real one, love you girl) for hours to fix everything. With her help, we fixed the storyline, and then began the first rewrite. This draft was put on wattpad for about a year, as I had no interest of publishing (or knowledge). Then, summer of 2022, I had a big move, and so much changed for me. I had too much time to myself, and so I researched more and more. That is when I was first introduced to self-publishing, and got the idea. So I worked hard on the first rewrite, and finally finished it early 2023. However, I knew it needed to be refined. So, I gave myself a month off the story, starting a new one called 'Illegal aura' (Which I'm currently writing the first draft of now), before simultaneously beginning the third rewrite. And now, here we are, at the proofreading stage, and publishing in almost three months. It was a weird road, but I'm finally here, and I hope everyone can come join me through the words I write.
